E-LSA Exemption Requests GrantedFAA Headquarters has issued two Exemptions for 14 CFR 21.191(i)(1), to allow certification of Experimental Light-Sport Aircraft (ELSA) after the current deadline of January 31, 2008. Make sure you file your 8050-1 and 8050-88A forms – which can be obtained from local Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) -– because the effective date of registration must still be on or before January 31, 2008. In both exemptions granted, the exemption-holder – Aero Sports Connection or Experimental Aircraft Association – determines who is eligible to use their exemption authority. Both of these exemptions expire on January 31, 2010, unless superseded or rescinded sooner. Following are the actual exemption documents and contact info for the exemption holders regarding eligibility.
