E-LSA Exemption Requests Granted

FAA Headquarters has issued two Exemptions for 14 CFR 21.191(i)(1), to allow certification of Experimental Light-Sport Aircraft (ELSA) after the current deadline of January 31, 2008. Make sure you file your 8050-1 and 8050-88A forms – which can be obtained from local Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) -– because the effective date of registration must still be on or before January 31, 2008.
In both exemptions granted, the exemption-holder – Aero Sports Connection or Experimental Aircraft Association – determines who is eligible to use their exemption authority. Both of these exemptions expire on January 31, 2010, unless superseded or rescinded sooner.
