Tornados Gather in Geneva, Ohio

Everyone Welcome, August 25-26

Tornados gather in Geneva, Ohio -- film at 11. No, it's not a severe weather warning for Ohio. It's the first Titan Owners Fly-In, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 25-26, at Germack Airport, near Geneva, Ohio.

But the fly-in is not just for Tornados. According to fly-in contact Sam Ingle of Titan Aircraft -- manufacturer of the Tornado line of ultralights, ultralight trainers and light sport aircraft -- the fly-in is "just for fun" and everyone (regardless of the brand of their ultralight or aircraft) is welcome to attend.

With approximately 500 Tornados worldwide, Ingle says he expects "at least 20 Tornados to show up." He would like to "set up 'Tornado Alley' for a [publicity] photo," he says.

Overnight camping is available starting the night before (Friday, August 24) and continuing on Saturday, August 25. Germack Airport offers primitive camping (no facilities), but motels and restaurants are within 2 miles, Ingle says.

The fly-in will feature fun ultralight contests, such as a "bomb" drop, limbo, paper toss, carrier landing and slalom. Awards will be given to winners.

Food and drinks will be available on-site, as will ultralight introductory flights. Ingle indicates he does not expect to be able to offer Titan Aircraft factory tours during the event (the Titan plant is located in Geneva, Ohio, but it's not at Germack Airport).

Ultralight pilots (and anyone else) wanting to attend the fly-in should contact Sam Ingle at: Titan Aircraft, 2730 Walter Main Rd., Geneva, OH 44041. Phone: (440) 466-0602
